Quick & Easy Bento

This is the first bento I made after I return to Japan. With the baby and busy schedule everyday, I can only make something fancy for Hina on her bento-day once a week at the kindergarten.

This is one of my favourite dish for bento coz it's healthy and doesn't take much time to prepare.
All you have to do is add mirin, soy sauce, water and a slice of ginger on chicken wings, boil till the sauce drys up.
Fresh cherry tomatoes and cucumber at the side. Place a slice of seaweed on the rice and cut-out 2 types of cheese and decorate it into a chick. It'll take you less than 15 minutes to complete.

Chicken Bento

Hina doesn't like pumpkin, so I added it into her rice balls to see if she would have them. To my surprise, she 'cleaned-up' her bento real well and it made me wonder if it was the pumpkin hiding in the rice balls or the little chickens that attracted her.

This bento consists of
- Boiled Broccoli
- Braised Chicken
- Hard boiled Quail Eggs
- CherryTomato & Carrot
- Pumpkin Rice Balls
- Seaweed

Chicken Dumplings

I got this chicken dumpling recipe from a Japanese Bento Book. It's simple and doesn't take long to prepare.
Since I used seaweed to wrap the dumplings, I do not need to add a lot of seasoning.

Recipe for Chicken Dumplings
- mix a small amount of flour, baking powder, salt, pepper to minced chicken
- knead into mini triangle shapes, wrap half a piece of seaweed over it and pan-fry until chicken turns golden brown.
